Family Attractions

RiverWalk Resort is surrounded by the highest concentration of family attractions in the White Mountains.  The choices and the family memories created here are endless.

There’s more fun within a 20-mile radius of RiverWalk Resort than you would expect from a small ski resort town.  Of course, the resort itself is located at Loon Mountain, which offers up some of the finest family activities all year long.  But, just outside the resort, only a short drive away, are the best of the White Mountains attractions.  You could stay for a whole season, and not fully explore it all.  So, where do you start?

For the Little Ones

Wondering what to do with your young children on your visit to the White Mountains?  Lincoln Woodstock is home to several of New Hampshire’s top children’s attractions.  On a hot day, there’s always Whales Tale Waterpark.   Shipwreck Island and Whale Harbor are perfect entertainment for little kids for hours, and they’ll be exhausted after all the fun.  It's good for mom’s and dad’s too, as they are just as much fun for all ages.  There’s also Clark’s Trading Post, which boasts several attractions for toddlers and young school-aged kids.    Hop on board the Hobo Railroad or the Cog Railway.  Who’d doesn’t love a train ride?  For a rainy day, you could catch the children’s theater at Jean’s Playhouse or a movie at BarnZ’s Lincoln Cinema.

Natural Attractions

The Western White Mountains are known worldwide for its natural attractions.  These geological features have been bringing people to this area forever, and for good reason.  They’re wicked cool.  Check out the Flume Gorge and try to imagine what it was like a million years ago.  Find Lost River inside Lost River Gorge.  Explore the Loon Mountain Glacial Caves or the Boulder Caves at Lost River.  Perhaps you’ll find the mountain peaks themselves to be the main attraction.  Gondolas and Trams can help your family get there.

Get your dose of family adrenaline at Alpine Adventures Ziplines, Loon Mountain Adventure Center, or Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel.  Of course, in the winter, ski and ride at the state’s top ski resort, Loon and Cannon.

Touring & Sightseeing

Everyone wants to see a Moose, and it's practically guaranteed on Pemi Valley Excursions, Moose Tours.   Or take a guided snowmobile tour with Sledventures or a kayak excursion with Outback Kayak.  There’s also some more quiet tours for those looking to take the family on a more peaceful pace, such as with Still Waters Run Deep.

These are just some of the attractions that your family will find when visiting RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain.  For a comprehensive list of attractions, visit the Western White Mountains Chamber of Commerce.
